  • The paper Neighborhood inequality in government fines: The case of parking tickets in 16 U.S. cities, co-authored with Brittany Vang and Huda Abdelnur was recently published in the journal Cities. Find the paper (open access) here.
  • An essay on school racial integration via transitional Kindergarten in California co-authored with Karen Manship was recently published by the American Institutes for Research as a part of their initiative Integration and Equity 2.0: New and Reinvigorated Approaches to School Integration. The 4th Spatial Data Science Symposium (SDSS 2023) will take place on September 5-6, 2023 as a distributed virtual meeting. All sessions will be held online, but hubs will welcome participants in person in Canada (Calgary, Montreal), New Zealand (Auckland, Christchurch), Switzerland (Zurich), The Netherlands (Utrecht), the UK (Bristol) and the USA (Buffalo, College Park).

The program includes paper presentations, an early career panel, thematic sessions, keynotes, and interviews. As in past years, SDSS 2023 aims to bring together researchers in academia, industry, government, and the non-profit sector from all over the world.

  • New working paper A Demographic Bridge to Diversity? Segregation and Diversity of Millennial Young Adult Neighborhoods in U.S. Metropolitan Areas with Jennifer Candipan has been included as a part of the Association of Population Centers working paper series. Check the paper out here. The paper received media coverage by the Wall Street Journal. I also presented the paper at the University of California, Berkeley Population Center in August, 2022.
